Rebecca Richards is an experienced and trained self-shooting documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work focuses on themes such as community and identity through the observational form.
She began her route into documentaries under a BFI Future Film and Doc Next Network scheme with guidance from BAFTA mentor, David Rolfe and funding from the European Cultural Foundation.
Her basis in this field grew whilst working at the production company, Pinch Media, alongside Mirko Pincelli and Enrico Tessarin, who have a very strong route in documentaries. Projects that she helped work on there were doc-series Ordinary Heroes that was released by Al Jazeera Balkan, as well as the feature-doc, Fishermen's Conversations which premiered at Raindance Film Festival.
Attending the Arts University Bournemouth (also known as the Bournemouth Film School) she specialised in Documentary and Cinematography under the guidance of Witold Stok BSC, Digby Elliott and Humphry Trevelyan.
Her work thus far as been screened at the BFI Southbank, International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, Documentarist Festival Istanbul and Holland Doc.
